how do u find the person who discovered a link between a gene and a genetic disease such as obesity?

no this is for a paper im suppose to find the genes that are linked to obesity. thats easy. the problem i have is finding who discovered this link. for example the mc4r gene had research for obesity in 1998, but wikipedia says it was officially found in 2008.

use databases from your school, search the gene and trace back from any paper through the citations.
