I need to know how to work out this problem. If the sales tax (6%) is $2.23 what would the bill be?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2.23 is 6% of the number we are looking for. So, .06y = 2.23, where y is what the bill would be. Just solve for y. Does that make sense?
