I like to set up my variables so that I know what I'm working with. We'll call short-sleeve shirt cost "s" and long-sleeve shirt cost "l." We know that: l = 14 and 2l + 2s = 42.40, since she bought two of each. We can plug in l and solve for s. Hope this helps :)

You're not wrong, but if you just tell people the answer and not explain why, that will not help them on a test when a similar question comes up. You are setting people up for failure that way.
