Diane and Ethan sell televisions at different stores. Diane earns $11 for each television she sells, plus a base salary of $250 each day. Ethan earns $26 for each television he sells, plus a base salary of $175 each day. The system of equations shown below represents this situation on a day that Diane and Ethan both earned the same amount of money.
11x+250=26x+175
So then they both sold 3?
no, not 3
5?
on a day when they both sell 5 t.v.s they will earn the same amount of money
diane sold 3 and ethan sold 5?
no, both of them sold 5
thank you!
np
actually it's not necessary that they both sell same number of tvs if Diane sells x tvs , she earns 11x+250 if Ethan sells y tvs , he earns 26y + 175 if they both earn same amount of money 26y + 175 = 11x + 250 thus for each value of x there is a value of y (5,5) is one solution, but there is more solutions
