A strategy I often use for questions of things that seem really hard is to just look at smaller amounts you can count out.

So ask yourself, how many even integers are between 0 and 10? Well, we can count that pretty quickly, it'll be 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 so there are 5 even numbers between 0 and 10 including 10. That should make sense, since there are odd numbers in between each even number. So half of the numbers between 0 and 10 are even. But that's not gonna change for counting higher!

Half the numbers between 0 and 1000 are even as well, right? So you can just divide 1000 by 2 to find the total amount of even numbers!
