Why did Truman choose to bomb Nagasaki and Hiroshima, in particular?

Hiroshima and Nagasaki were chosen because they were big industrial cities that had not been heavily bombed. Therefore, it would be easier to gauge how destructive the atomic bombs would be. Tokyo was not chosen because it was the home of the emperor. Only Emperor Hirohito had the authority to order the Japanese military to lay down their arms. I did not write that btw
