You draw a map with a scale of 10 miles to 0.5 inches. How far should you space two cities that are 60 miles apart?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

30 inches

OpenStudy (anonymous):

60 times 0.5 = 30

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ummm..I clicked that answer and its wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its 10 inches my bad

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no actually its 1.50 inches

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

60/10 = 6 6 * .5 = 3 so it is 3 inches

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3 inches hes right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just woke up

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got that by the fact that it is 10 for every .5 inches so I could just divide 60 by 10 and multiply it by the scaling factor.

Thx for your help anyway both of you :)
