The hexagon GIKMPR and triangle FJN are regular. The dashed line segments form 30 degree angles. Find the image of OQ after a rotation of 300 degrees about point O

OpenStudy (ranga):

Rotate by 300 degrees. The convention is +300 degrees refers to anti-clockwise rotation. You can rotate OQ anticlockwise 300 degrees which is same as rotating it 60 degrees clockwise. Each dashed line makes 30 degrees with each other. So just go clockwise by two dotted lines and OQ will line up with OF.

OpenStudy (ranga):

You can also try the anticlockwise route. Each dashed line makes 30 degrees with each other. To go 300 degrees you need to go to the 300/30 = 10 or tenth dotted line anticlockwise. You will find OQ ends up at OF.

THANK YOU! Can I ask you one more question please?

OpenStudy (ranga):

I can try one more.

I will check back after you post the question.

The vertices of a triangle are P(-7,-4) q (-7,-8) and R(3,-3) Name the vertices of the image reflected across the line y=x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a) P(4,7) Q(8,7) R(3,-3) B) P(4,-7) Q(8,-7), R(3,3) C) P(-4,-7) Q(-8,-7) R(-3,3) D) (-4,7) Q(-8,7) R(-3,-3)

OpenStudy (ranga):

If the point (a,b) is reflected across the line y = x, the image will be at (b,a). All you need to do is switch the x and y coordinates of each point. So which answer choice switches the x and y coordinates of each point?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

C?

OpenStudy (ranga):

Yes.

Thank you so much!!

You are welcome.
