I'm not so good with word problems. Please help: - Option 1: $30 per month and $100 membership fee. - Option 2: $25 per month and $150 membership fee. Michael is trying to determine which tennis club to join. If Michael chooses option 2, for which month will his total cost for option 2 be less than his total cost for option 1? A) month 8 B) month 9 C) month 10 D) month 11

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Let cost = c, and the number of months = x 1) c = 30x+100 2) c = 25x+150 You are looking for the point where the c for option 2 is less. Graph both

OpenStudy (anonymous):

*graph both and find the point where option 1 is more costly than option 2

For the answer I got D. Is that correct?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

30m + 100 > 25m + 150 ....now we will sub in m = 11 to see if D is correct 30(11) + 100 > 25(11) + 150 330 + 100 > 275 + 150 430 > 425 yep....it is D
