Veins carry deoxygenated blood while arteries carry blood rich with oxygen True False

OpenStudy (rock_mit182):

True

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Actually the arteries carry blood from the heart, and veins return blood to the heart. Since the blood pumps oxygen poor blood from the heart to the lungs, this artery (pulmonary) has oxygen poor blood. The vein (Pulmonary vein) that returns blood from the lungs to the heart to be pumped to the rest of the body contains oxygen rich blood. So that statement is false.
