solve 3x+1=2x-4y+3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x-4y=3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry x-4y=2

OpenStudy (praxer):

I think it is x+4y=2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I dont understand how to get it down to that..sorry really bad at math here

OpenStudy (praxer):

3x+1=2x-4y+3 first bring all the x to one side. we get, 3x-2x+1=-4y+3. did you understand this ? :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (praxer):

:) now bring the y term to the left side and take the 1 to the right hand side, we will get 3x-2x+4y=3-1 now, finally we get x+4y=2 understood ?......... :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (praxer):

So, finally we have the equation. Is it required to find the value of x and y ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes it is sorry not much sleep and confused.

OpenStudy (praxer):

welcome...:)
