OpenStudy (anonymous):

If the DNA content of a diploid cell in prophase I is x, what would it be for the same cell at prophase II?

OpenStudy (shreehari499):

It will be half of x i.e x/2 Meiosis is involved with splitting the amount of chromosome in a cell in half amongst its daughter cells. Since prophase 2 occurs in the beginning of meiosis2, right after the cell has split for the first time, each cell has half of the amount of DNA that the parent cell had.
