I already know that 3 feet per minute is equal to 0.3 miles per hour, but I don't know why. I prefer to understand why something equals something, or how to get a certain equation using specific methods. So, can you please explain WHY 3 feet per minute is equal to 0.3 miles per hour?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

0.3 miles is 1584 feet, 1 hour is 60 minutes, so 0.3 miles per hour= 1584 feet/ 60 min which is 26.4 feet/min

Sorry! I meant to type that I already solved this myself, but my computer crashed so I was unable to say that I don't need this question answered. I can't close this darn question. Thanks for answering anyway.
