Why were the first African slaves brought to the Americas? to work on the sugar plantations in Brazil and the Caribbean islands to be exchanged for manufactured goods between New England and West Africa to replace the declining Native American population in the mid-1500s

OpenStudy (jadeishere):

I'm pretty sure it's not the last one but other than that i'm not sure. Quite possibl the first one

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

I would agree that it is the first one. It isn't the last one, and it definitely isn't the second one because slaves are people, not something manufactured. The only choice that makes sense is the first one.

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

I hope that helped!! (:

OpenStudy (jadeishere):

Remember, they weren't seen as people back then

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

True, but manufactured means made in a factory.. and people aren't made in factories lol

OpenStudy (jadeishere):

Yep, just wanted to make sure you knew that >.<Sorry that was one thing tjhat got me really upset about that whole subject in history

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you All

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

You're welcome, and @Jadeishere I understand. (:
