OpenStudy (linda3):

Hello, I've worked with blogger for a few months now as my main blogging source and I seem to find it much easier to understand than WordPress. But I am going to start up a web novel series in June, where I'd like to have it look like the reader is reading from a book and you can have some sort of gadget that clicks to the next page. - Instead of scrolling down to the next page. Does that make sense? And I was wondering if blogger offered that kind of gadget and if not- how could I apply it to blogger? And where can I get one? Does anybody know or can anyone help me with web design?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i made a website before but im not sure how well i can help with it depending on the version.

OpenStudy (linda3):

@dumbsearch2 @thomaster @e.mccormick are any of your guys good with web designing?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i did mine with drupal websites creator if its like that site easy as pie

OpenStudy (linda3):

@grabill I've worked with my own website as well. I'm a blogger but- I don't really like their format of scroll down to see the next post. :( I'd rather have it to where you can click 'next' to see the next page. do you see where i'm going?

OpenStudy (linda3):

I've looking into sites like Wix that offer free templates and themes for you to customize.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

o yah i see where your going, to make it more organised and easyer to find the correct page

OpenStudy (linda3):

not an archive but a button instead. Cause I'll be making an online book. So I want my readers to find the next page by clicking next. So yeah... I know that @dumbsearch2 is really good with the tech stuff. :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

dumbsearch2 is offline put you could pm him

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Well, there are some Flash based books, and I bet there are JavaScript ones too. Or you could make each page a bit short and have previous/next links at the bottom.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Oooh. This looks interesting: http://monocle.inventivelabs.com.au/

OpenStudy (linda3):

You're a life savor- Hopefully this is what i wanted... I'm not sure yet. @dumbsearch2 you got anything?

OpenStudy (dumbsearch2):

I'm not quite sure if she wants something in a widget-like format; rather an actual internal implementation, e.mccormick. This method of navigation is entitled pagination; if you are using wordpress this such suffice http://codex.wordpress.org/Pagination, or rather this http://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-pagination/

OpenStudy (dumbsearch2):

With Blogger (Sorry, I just read that you prefered that platform), you could utilize this custom (JavaScript + CSS) code by editing the HTML. I could do it for you, or program something different then this tutorial for your needs, but you should be able to do this by yourself : http://www.mybloggerlab.com/2013/09/how-to-add-numbered-pagination-in-your-blogger-blog.html

OpenStudy (dumbsearch2):

If you're fine with hosting it externally, you could use @e.mccormick's approch or even something like http://www.wattpad.com/. Though you probably just want a solution inside your Blogger.

OpenStudy (linda3):

Holy Cow! This is exactly what I wanted!!!! I just didn't know what it was called hahaha. Thank you soooo much!!! If you have any advice or any more to say please do tell! :) - I tried wattpad- I'd rather have my own website with my custom domain.
