Oi! I love Roman history! During the reign of Augustus starting in 27 B.C, the Pax Romana started, which means "Roman Peace" and lasted, if I remember correctly, about 180 years. Which means Rome wasn't at war with any of it's neighbors, which was rare. A is the only one that answers the question in full.

Hehe, might I recommend Tom Holland's Rubicon for the end of the Republic? It is a really good book, or Livy, but Livy is a bit hard. And NP.
