Choose all answers that are correct A.A long period of peace throughout the empire led to a sense of overconfidence in Rome. B.Rome could not grow enough food and maintain a large enough army to fend off barbarian tribes C.The empire split into three separate units, each ruled by a consul. D.Incompetent rulers placed huge tax burdens on the Roman citizens
Let's see, it is not A for sure, or B, it is C, which is why you'll hear talk about the Western and Eastern empires, also known as the Holy Roman Empire and Byzantine Empire later on.
maybe its both there could be 2
There could be, but it is not B because they didn't have a logistic problem, but when the empire split, Rome was not longer the capital and was therefore not defended as such. It is not D, because if it was the empire would have fallen with Nero and Caligula in the 1st century A.D.
Which describes a contribution that classical Greece made to modern Western civilization? A. election of political leaders B. belief in one deity C. graphic novel in literature D. scientific theory of relativity
For sure not A, there were other societies in which political leaders were elected, for sure not B, Greek mythology is famous is it not for polytheism? It is not D, because if I remember correctly, that was Einstein. It is C.

Which describes a contribution that classical Rome made to modern Western civilization? A. construction techniques using iron and steel B. executive, legislative, and judicial branches of government C. foundation of the Islamic religion D. architectural style featuring columns and domes
It is 100% without a doubt not A, for steel was not invented in Rome yet. I think C is self explanatory. That leaves us with B and D, the U.S.A based the constitution off of Greece's model, which the Romans liked, but I believe they are looking for D. Much of Romes architecture was based off the Etruscans, who inhabited Italy before the Romans, and we commonly say that the buildings such as the Capitol building are based off the Romans, it would be D.
your the best! if you were living in that times you would be the smartest person alive!! that:3 :D
Hehe* Might I add that steel wasn't invented by the Romans in the first place, hehe I looked back at it, and it makes it look like the Romans at one pointed invented steel.
Hehe, thank you :)
Which statement about the size of the Roman Empire at its greatest extent is true? A. It included Western Europe, the Balkans, North Africa, and parts of the Middle East. B. It stretched from the northern tip of Scandinavia to the Indian Ocean. C. It covered most of the African continent and all of what is now Russia. D. It encompassed the territory of modern-day Germany, Denmark, and Poland.
Alrighty, sorry I went to go get somethin' to eat. Anyways, it is not B, the Romans never saw Scandinavians, unless you count the Germanic peoples who migrated from Scandinavia. Charlemagne saw the Vikings though, but that was in the 900s A.D. It is not C, the closest Rome got to Russia was Dacia, modern day Romania and Moldova. The Romans also never got close enough north to reach Denmark and Poland, they also never conquered all of Germania, which is why the Danube is signifigant, it signaled the halt of the expansion into Germany. It is D, if you look at the Punic Wars, it took place in Northern Africa, Romania is in the Balkans, Spain, Germany, and Gaul became Roman provinces, so most of Western Europe, and Crassus, the first member in the First Triumvirate was killed by the Parthians in the Middle-East, and Egypt was the jewel of the Roman Republic and Empire.
thanks! why wouldn't it be A
Oh shoot, I forgot to mention that, hehe it is A.
good thing I asked... so for sure A
100%
okay thanks
Np.
Which had the most influence on the movement of people, goods, and ideas between East and West during the time of the Roman Empire? A. exploratory sea expeditions B. trade by sea and over well-built roads C. military campaigns on land and sea D. immigration from Asia and North Africa
It is not A, the Romans never liked the sea too much, D doesn't make sense, C also doesn't make sense because the East and West never warred with each other. So I would say B.
okay thanks I have one more ;)
Sure, shoot :)
Which statement accurately describes Italy's terrain? A. Large areas of tropical rainforest provide ample timber resources. B. Flat grasslands stretch from the Tyrrhenian Sea to the Adriatic Sea. C. Fertile plains make it possible for farmers to grow a variety of crops. D. Lack of rainfall makes good pastureland for grazing animals scarce.
Oh! And what is the name of the class you are taking? It sounds rather fun.
world history
It is not B, because the Romans used to use the Phalanx formation in the early days, but found it ineffective in the hilly Italian terrain. I think A is self explanatory, when you think Rome, do you see any palm trees? Haha, maybe Sicily, but not what they are asking. Most likely not D, because in the Roman mythology, the founders of Rome Romulus and Remus were raised by a shepherd. It would be C, because Rome's army was based on land owning plebeians, which were 99% of the time farmers.
so C or A
World History?!?!? I took honors last year and we never got a wiff of Rome! It is C.
