I have a question and idk how to post a pic so. Im doing math and it shows me the picture of a triangle and asks find the measure of <1 which is on the top corner of the tri. The left corner is 70 degrees. then the triangle has a line coming out of the it and on that line it says 135 degrees. Im confused on why it's outside the triangle. What's it mean?

For some reason, there's no attach file/pic button when you initially ask the question, but it's available in the comment section.

ok by the remote exterior angle theorem, the angle of 70 degrees and angle 1 add up to the angle outside the triangle (the 135 degree angle)
jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):
so if angle 1 was x degrees, then
70+x = 135
jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):
solving for x gives you x = ???
