MEDAL IF SOLVED CORRECTLY!!!!!!!!!!!!! Solve the following system of equations with an answer as an ordered pair 2x + 7y= -7 -4 - 3y= -19

OpenStudy (anonymous):

typo maybe?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[ 2x + 7y= -7\\ -4 x- 3y= -19\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh yes. no ( . )

It would be interesting to post directly the solution. But I think a general solution could help you in others problems. Also, I you should try to solve by the usual methods (susbtitution, reduction, etc). Anyways, for a system like this, \[ax +by =c\\ dx+ey=f\] with \[ae-bd\neq0\] you have, \[x=\frac{ce-bf}{ae-bd}\] \[y=\frac{af-cd}{ae-bd}\] The ordered pair is (x,y)
