i need help with PARAMETRIC EQUATIONS

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when u are ready to help me some one RESPOND AND THEN I WILL ASK MY ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Find a pair of parametric equations connecting a line segment between (-2,-5) and (4,3). a. 1 second x= ? y=? b. 5 seconds x=? y=?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

r(t) = (-2,-5) + t((4,3)-(-2,-5))

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ummm what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is supposed to be x= and y= what is r=

OpenStudy (anonymous):

r (t) = (-2 + 6 t, -5 + 8 t) x(t) =-2 + 6 t y(t) -5 + 8t

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how would u do it for 5 seconds?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and don't u need the y intercept in this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you have two points R and Q then one of the the parametric equations can be computed as (x(t), y(t))= R + t (Q-R)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok but how do u figure it out for 5 seconds??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This method that very few people teach is very easy and efficient

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol but what about for the 5 seconds?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What do you mean for 5 seconds?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Find a pair of parametric equations connecting a line segment between (-2,-5) and (4,3). a. 1 second x= ? y=? b. 5 seconds x=? y=? that is the ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i am talking about for part B

OpenStudy (anonymous):

replace t by 1 then replace t by 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sooo????? kind of confused can u show me ur how on how to solve it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

please, sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x(t) =-2 + 6 t y(t) -5 + 8t x(1)=4 y(1)=3 x(5)= 28 y(5)=35

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no but they want 2 parametric "equations" they don't want the anwser for the second one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Replace t by 2t and you get another equation x(t)=-2 + 12 t y(t)=-5 + 16 t

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or i mean

OpenStudy (anonymous):

WHY?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Go study your lesson about parametric equation and come back

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Bye

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wowww um ok but kinda rude

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but thanks for the help
