what on earth is a polynomial???????
a polynomial is an algebra term. It means that an expression has more than 2 terms, more specifically more than 3 terms. Monomial- 3 Binomial- 4x+2 Trinomial- \[2x ^{2}+8x-7\] Polynomial-\[3x^4+3x^2+4x+5\]
If I'm wrong someone please correct me, but I'm pretty sure that is right
what is such a thing used for? 3x**4+3**2+4x+5??? if I remember my algebra, to find x is a lot of division and multiplication. I'm confused why the problem set requires us to write functions for determining a result, let alone what one is for.How do y'all get that scientific notation? oh thanks for the answer, BTW
I suppose I am saying, I do not know how to 'solve' this equation. do I have to solve x in this example?. How? do the exponents first?the math, then addition?
First exponents, then multiplication/division, then addition/subtraction. The first problem requires you to solve the equation for a given value of x. To use your example, if x = 2, then: 3(2)^4 + 3(2)^2 + 4(2) + 5 = 3(16) + 3(8) + 4(2) + 5 = 85. Hope that helps
yes now that gives me an idea of what I'm supposed to do with a polynomial for the exercise, now I can write code hahahah thank you SOOOOOO MUCH
