I am writing a paper in my writing class about how schools shootings is a problem, but I need ideas on how we can stop these shootings in schools. Any ideas?

OpenStudy (artsy_brian):

Funny thing, we discussed this on my civics class, in order to write this you might need to think outside the box so, the question is not "How" is this a problem, but more "What" causes this problem? Look for facts, the reason that triggers the problem, i don't remember accurately what we discussed but it led to something "more of them out there" which led me to a flashback to a movie's quote: There are more like us out there So, a few ideas could be increasing the security, currently a few near by school are forcing the policy of carrying a school I.D for any school relative activities, we've implemented more security around the school's areas, more lock-down drills, and as well any activity that might lead to bully or oppression a school counselor or even a friend can prevent and help you with what could cause a worst after effect. Basically, these are just a few ideas to keep you going outside the box. Now, the next step is to look for statistics, quotes, reliable sources that can help you back up your ideas.

Would strengthening gun laws work as well or do I need to just focus on the schools?

OpenStudy (artsy_brian):

Like any other teacher would say, if you could somehow link it to to the main problem ( which i don't think will be hard knowing the guns are related to the shooting), that could be a great support for your essay, from what we discussed enforcing gun's licences and background check on those who wants to have a gun could help decrease the problem just like the recently Carpenter case. Just remember anything that you believe could strength your work, try it out and then have some friends or people analyze it to give you some feedback :)
