Factor the following trinomial: 20x^2 - 63x + 49

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

ok.... well this is tough so start by multiplying 20 x 49= 980 find the factors of 980 thta add to -63.... both factors are negative... after using a simple factor tree I found 35 and 28... so you need (20x -35)(20x- 28) ----------------- 20 look at each binomial and remove a common factor... 1 factor for each binomial they will cancel the denominator... whats left is the factorisation of your quadratic.

I got (5x-7)(4x-7)

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

thats correct...

Can you help me with the next one?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):
