Not sure what this question is getting at, obviously it will travel along the path of the conducting wires.  I am assuming this is referring to the differences of Alternating Current (AC) and Direct Current (DC), the AC will travel in a periodic manner changing direction as the source alternates its polarity.  Direct current source remains in a constant polarity providing a specific direction.
