Biology is an interdisciplinary study. Explain what that means in your own words. Give a detailed example or story—from the news, from your life, or from the lives of people you know—that clearly illustrates the interdisciplinary nature of biology and the importance of biology in the world around you.
help me
Interdisciplinary studies are those that involve people from many different fields. Biologists have to know chemistry, to study the pH and chemicals that affect living organisms. They might need to have a little bit of geology knowledge, and they definitely need some climatology background to understand the process of evolution. Currently, people are growing GMO corn and other plants and animals for us to eat. The biologists that made these organisms knew genetics and proteins and nutrition, but actually having these organisms to eat means that sociologists (who study how and why groups of people react), politicians, even marketing specialists have to be involved. If ALL you know is biology, you'd be a very poor biologist. You have to have a basic knowledge in a lot of other fields to be an effective biologist, and that's true of most other disciplines, too.
