can you add sin5x +sinx = sin 6x?? or does it not work like that

no it unfortunately doesn't work like that in order to add them together the part inside the function has to be the same 5 sin x + sin x = 6 sin x but we can't combine the insides like that
how about sin^5x+ sin^x

so can you add sin2x+ sin2x = sin4x??
or would it be 2sin2x
