OpenStudy (mackenzie2013):

A regular number cube is rolled. What is the probability that a 3 will not be rolled?

OpenStudy (mackenzie2013):

1/6 1/2 4/5 5/6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, just take the probability that a 3 WILL be rolled, and then take that away from 1. ^.^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Think about this. How many numbers are on the cube OTHER than 3?

OpenStudy (mackenzie2013):

there are 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

six...total. But not all of them are "not 3" How many of them ARE (not 3) ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You have 1,2,4,5, and 6. That is 5. SO your probability that you will roll a number That is not 3 is what?

OpenStudy (mackenzie2013):

5/6?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Good job :)

OpenStudy (mackenzie2013):

Thanks for the help :)
