what is the difference between FET and BJT ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its very Easy To Remember this FET is Advanced Version Of BJT FET Voltage Controoled & BJT Current Controlled FET faster than BJT in term of Switcing BJT are Cheaper than FET FET are Easly Damaged

OpenStudy (sidsiddhartha):

bjt has better driving capability than fet which is known as fanout , also bjt is a bipolar divice in which both electrons and holes take part in conduction but in fet ,only one of hole and electron takes part in conduction that is why bjt has higher noise and power dissipation than fet. as i told before fet is a majority carrier device so it offers more input impedence and so control does not require more current but in case of bjt input impedence is low so control requires more current that is why its a current control device. you can also say that fet has better temp stability and as bjt are less costly than fet they are mass produced.
