integral problem below! help please been stuck on it..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

myininaya (myininaya):

to get from acceleration to velocity you need to integrate

myininaya (myininaya):

to get from velocity to position you need to integrate

OpenStudy (anonymous):

30t+4 =15t^2+4t =5t^3+2t^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@myininaya

myininaya (myininaya):

you integrated acceleration but you forgot to put the constant

OpenStudy (anonymous):

15t^2+4t+c 5t^3+2t^2+c

myininaya (myininaya):

you integrate a constant you constant*x+d where d is another constant

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm confused?

myininaya (myininaya):

\[a(t)=30t+4 ; v(t)=15t^2+4t+C ; s(t)=5t^3+2t^2+Cx+D \]

myininaya (myininaya):

example about integrating constant: \[\int\limits_{}^{}5 dx=5x+c \]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so after intergrating to get s(t) do I plug 12 into t? @myininaya

myininaya (myininaya):

you are given s(0)=16 this means to replace t with 0 and s with 16 you are also given v(0)=16 this means replace t with 0 and v with 16 <--do this v part first so you can find C then do that first thing I have listed last to find D

myininaya (myininaya):

find C first do v(0)=16 to get C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[v(t)=15t^2=4t+C\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[v(0)= \] \[16=16(0)^2+4(0)+C\] \[C=16\] ?

myininaya (myininaya):

Yep ok so now you know what C is find D using s(0)=16

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[S(0)=\] \[16=5(0)^3+2(0)t^2+16(0)+D\] D=16?

myininaya (myininaya):

yep now you are ready to find s at t=12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[S(16)=5(16)^3+2(16)^2+16(16)+16\] \[S(16)=21264\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@myininaya

myininaya (myininaya):

so you know the question is asking what is s when t=12 not t=16

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhh, awkward. but did I get the right concept?

myininaya (myininaya):

lol yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

9136?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha okay! thank youuuu!!!! (:

myininaya (myininaya):

i could check that using a calculator one sec

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay!

myininaya (myininaya):

looks good

myininaya (myininaya):

good job

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you!
