Describe social, economic, and political changes occurred after World War II?

It kind of depends on the country you might be looking at. In Japan, for example, it underwent extreme changes following the end of WW2 because of US efforts in rebuilding it into a more open and democratic nation. Huge company conglomerates (zaibatsus) were dissolved, the emperor lost all political power (but was kept on as a figurehead), and its military was gutted.

In the United States, a number of changes focused on it as the sole economic superpower. Compared to most every other nation, the US escaped relatively unscathed. Europe was devastated, the USSR had millions upon millions of war dead and was also reeling from war, England was nearly bankrupt, and Japan was literally bombed back into the Stone Age.

Soldiers coming home received a lot of help with the GI Bill which aided them in seeking education for jobs, homes, and essentially getting them back into living normal lives. Luxury items like cars became popular again and much sought after (now that factories didn't have to churn out tanks and planes).

Politically, things also changed. As the US' relationship with the Soviets frosted over, communism became the new enemy sparking a new Red Scare in the years after WW2. What used to be two allies in war were now enemies in a new fight -- the Cold War.
