So how can we transfer the liquid from one bottle to another in 17 seconds?
Duhh, pour the liquid in (from 1 to 2)
It takes 1 mins , but can be done in 17 seconds. Walter Lewin said so. I have an idea but wanna know what other people are thinking.
a) We need to see the whole question b) Who is Walter Lewin? c) What is your idea - it would be good to know where you are starting from.
The take half full bottle and pour it in a empty one. The transfer is easy but takes half a bottle.
The real answer is that you shake up the bottle first to create swirl currents, shake real hard, then just join the bottle as usual to the empty bottle and watch. The physical explanation is not very easy to explain, I have seen a lecture where this is explained by Walter Lewin, if I find it I will update.
