I need help explaining quantum states!!!

If a green apple magically appeared next to the red apple, what's probability of the apple being sliced by the non-existent knife?

I used u-substitution to find the initial state of a qubit before being analyzed in a plus/minus basis then used Grover's algorithm to search through a latices of N-indexes. I only have 2 provided Ket vectors |x and |y plssss helppppppp!!!!
