HELP!!! I will give MEDALS!!! In general, more complex animals are A) more likely to rely on chemical digestion than to rely on mechanical digestion. B) more likely to perform intracellular digestion than extracellular digestion. C) more likely to have one body opening that to have two body openings. D) more likely to have a digestive tract than to have a gastrovascular cavity. I say D, but tell me what you think.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Complex Animals are most likely to be vertebrates (and some invertebrates) since they have more body functions, have more than one anatomical system (Nervous, skeletal, Reproductive, etc.) Compared to "Simple Animals" (Like starfishes and Sponges). Simple animals does chemical digestion, or intracellular digestion, and only have one body opening... this leaves you what choice for the complex animal?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you! Are you positive this is correct? I would like to hear a second opinion, but you did do a great job explaining.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i am

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think it is D but i am not sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

We use both Mechanical and Chemical digestion.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah maybe

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah thats right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

SO if we use both, then it might be D.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

mechanical digestion is physically active(organ like teeth) and chemical digestion is chemical reaction (enzyme

OpenStudy (anonymous):

chemical is the way stomach acid and saliva break down food into digestable compounds.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

RIght, so no one complex organism can rely on only one of those.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes so it would be A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cuz yo need chemical more that you need mechanical digestion

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you need*

This question has two right answers. Why do they give questions with two right answers?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok i just looked up the question and it says it was a http://openstudy.com/study#/updates/51af83d6e4b06ee3ee269f74

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it was D... i know this old im just saying
