how is paraphrasing different from summarizing?

paraphrasing is using direct quotes and quoting them , summarinzing is summing up the quote or phrase into your own words

Summarizing is just telling the main points of a story/paragraph, in your own words. Paraphrasing is just making the sentance/paragraph into how you would talk today--making it more sense.
