You decide to market your own custom computer software. You must invest $3,255 for computer hardware, and spend $2.90 to buy and package each disk. If each program sells for $13.75, how many copies must you sell to break even?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you have two sums of money that are compared against each other, 1) $3,255 the fixed cost for hardware, and $2.90 per disk. 2) income of $13.75 per sold copy. can you write a term of the equation? (cost or profit)

no do u know it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3,255 / 10.85$

OK, we can try to calculate what profit each sold copy will make program sells for $13.75 one disk costs $2.90 what profit will you make with each sold software?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

300

I got it thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

basically take the price ur selling each one for, and subtract the price of the package from it, so 13.75$ - 2.90$ = 10.85$, and then simply take the price you spent on equiptment (3,255$) and divide 10.85 from it to get 300
