Does anyone know ASL? (2 questions) When signing noun-verb pairs do you sign the NOUN once or twice? When signing noun-verb pairs do you sign the VERB once or twice?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know ASL, but I never took a class on it. I just learned it by myself bc I knew people who were deaf.... Sorry, I can't help.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So are you a fluent signer? Or do you just know the alphabet?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Fluent signer, I haven't signed in like a year or so, so I don't remember all the signs.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, do you remember how to sign "chair" or "sit?" I know that you're supposed to sign the noun chair twice and the verb sit once, but I don't know if that goes for every verb or noun...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's how you say sit.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm not sure if you're supposed to sign every noun or verb twice either. I would assume so, but i honestly don't know.
