Which one is greater? -54 or -21

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For any negative values -3 < -2 for example the greater the value of a negative is, the smaller it is... For example -300 is less than -1 So which one is greater -54 or -21 ?

sammixboo (sammixboo):

With negative integers, the lower the absolute value (the number with no negative or positive sign) the higher it's value. Just like @student_basil ... The greater the value of the negative, the value goes lower, and then the lower the value of a negative integer, the greater it's value...

Yes, I meant that... I was just trying to be simple.

|dw:1397778855755:dw| In this drawing, if you look at -1 it is higher than -6, so that means -1 is greater than -6 and any number under it...

sammixboo (sammixboo):

Do you understand @refuerwfh , and if you do... What did you chose?

I would say... |dw:1397779538546:dw|
