A gazebo is located in the center of a large, circular lawn with a diameter of 300 feet. Straight paths extend from the gazebo to a sidewalk around the lawn. If two of the paths form a 45° angle, how far would you have to travel around the sidewalk to get from one path to the other? Round your answer to the nearest foot if necessary. 236ft 59ft 110ft 118ft

OpenStudy (phi):

I would first find the circumference of the lawn (circle) then what fraction is 45º out of 360º to find the length of the arc

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so for the circumference i got 942.478 feet and the length of the arc is 8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@phi

OpenStudy (phi):

the length of the arc is 8 I hope you mean ⅛ of the way around the circle. so the distance you want is ⅛ * 942.5 (roughly)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the only answer relatively close to that would be A? Correct?

OpenStudy (phi):

are you asking if 942.5/8 is about 236 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh no im using the wrong numbers Thanks! :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got D btw

OpenStudy (anonymous):

was D right?
