OpenStudy (superdavesuper):

good job on the first 2 parts of the Q....the last part is easy - just put y=1000000000 n solve for x....

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

The formula should be Population = 400 * (1.5)^weeks

OpenStudy (superdavesuper):

@wolf1728 thanx i didnt read the Q close enough...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

like this ?

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

When will it reach a million? Population = 400 * (1.5)^weeks 1,000,000 = 400 * (1.5)^weeks 1,000,000 / 400 = (1.5)^weeks Now, we'll need to use logarithms: log (1,000,000/400) = weeks * log (1.5) 3.3979400087 = weeks * 0.1760912591 weeks = 3.3979400087 / 0.1760912591 weeks = 19.2964717664 Yes, it's just that "simple" LOL

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

Katrina your calculation for 10 weeks is correct !!

Superdave That's okay. When it comes to these whacky, exponential, logarithmic questions, I just happen to be pretty good (lucky even?) at them.
