A pair of shoes usually sells for $61. If the shoes are 30% off, and sales tax is 8%, what is the total price of the shoes, including tax? $46.12 $46.54 $49.41 $47.58

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It would be the first one due to multiplying 61 times 30% then that answer by 8% and then adding the two products together.

b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A.... not b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thx

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no that's not right because you would get this: 61* .30 and you would get 18.30 and then 18.30*.8 and you would get 14.64 you then add them and get 32.94

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it a or b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you arent subtracting. its 61 times 30= 18.3 now 61-18.3=42.7 42.7 times 8% is 3.416 42.7+3.416 = 46.116 now round that and you get option A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

plus 32.94 isn't even an option.
