Tins of paint are available in two sizes, large and small. Mr Jones buys 3 large and 2 small tins and it costs him £19.50. Mrs Smith buys 4 large and 4 small tins and it costs her £30. Form a pair of simultaneous equations to work out the cost of both sizes of tin.

hey flying buddy XD

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Let large = 'L' and let small = 'S' If he buys 3 large and 2 small..for a total of 19.50 ..that is 3L + 2S = 19.50 And if he buys 4 Large and 4 Small...for a total of 30...we have 4L + 4S = 30

For working out i've got 7L=49.50 L= 7.07 not so sure on what to do next?
