I believe it's converging, as you need the light rays scattered off of an object to converge at a focal point so that it is one clear point on a screen. I'm not sure about which option it is. Do you follow that?

Diverging lenses can only make "virtual images," I think.

I don't know about D, but C makes it seem like you want the object between the lens and screen. How does that sound to you?
