A soccer player kicks a ball with a mass of 0.42 kg. The ball travels at a velocity of 28 m/s for 1.6 s until the goalie stops it. What was the average acceleration of the soccer ball? A. 17.5 m/s B. 0.06 m/s C. 0.06 m/s² D. 17.5 m/s²

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Average acceleration is the change in velocity over an interval divided by the change in time. So initial velocity + final / 1.6 seconds = (28 + 0)/1.6 = 17.5 m/s^2 make sure to indicate it is per seconds SQUARED, as we're talking about acceleration. so answer is D
