Well you need to recall TOA SOH CAH. tan is opposite/adjacent, sin is opposite/hypotenuse, cos is adjacent/hypotenuse

Ok well can you tell which one is the hypotenuse? It's the longest side. And your point of reference is the angle you have. Opposite is the side that is the opposite of the angle. Adjacent is beside the angle. Like for the first one, x is the hypotenuse and y is the opposite. 8 is adjacent.

Well see you will need the hypotenuse for sin and that is unknown(x). This doesn't help. Since you want y and have 8, try something with adjacent and opposite.
