What is the solution of the linear system of equations? y=3x+2 y=2x+1 http://static.k12.com/calms_media/media/1417000_1417500/1417268/1/6f3a6a31c21c9453be10cf413f3b4b5f8f4bcc23/MS_PA_130905_170074.jpg A. (1, 1) B. (-1, -1) C. (-2, 3) D. no solution

OpenStudy (anonymous):

plug y = 2x + 1 in another equation we get 2x + 1 = 3x + 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Now solve this for x andding -(2x + 1) on both side we get 3x + 2 -2x - 1 = 0 this gives you x + 1 = 0 adding -1 on both side we get x = -1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

now plug the value of x in either equation to get the value of y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y = 3(-1) + 2 = -3 + 2 = -1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so your solution set is (-1, -1)

OpenStudy (itsbribro):

thanks
