Please help

OpenStudy (danielbarriosr1):

The width of a rectangle is 5 feet less than its length. The perimeter of the rectangle is 70 feet. Find the width of the rectangle.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

l=w+5 P=70 P=2(w+l) plugging in the values you're given, 70=2(w+w+5) 70=2(2w+5) 35=2w+5 w=15 w=15, l=w+5=15+5=20 So 15 and 20 checking... 2(15+20)=70 2(35)=70 70=70

OpenStudy (danielbarriosr1):

So: l=length w=width p=perimeter

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes.

OpenStudy (danielbarriosr1):

got it
