what is the relation between relative error and parallel resistance

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, relative error is given by:\[\delta R=\frac{ R _{ideal}-R }{ R }\]where Rideal is the effective R resistance calculated using the optimal resistances and R is the effective resistance calculated using the uncertainty in the resistances as shown in the following equation:\[\frac{ 1 }{ R _{eff} }=\frac{ 1 }{ \left( R _{1}\pm \Delta R _{1} \right) }+\frac{ 1 }{ \left( R _{2}\pm \Delta R _{2} \right)}\] where ∆Rn is the uncertainty in a given resistor's resistance.
