plug in the x and y values into the equation and see if the inequality is true or not

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes correct plug values of x and y into given equation and check inequality

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How do I check it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay let me explain it We are having equation as \[y \le 3x - 2 \] Lets take option A ( - 1 , - 6 ) now plug x = -1 and y = -6 into equation can you try ?

OpenStudy (acxbox22):

for example (-1,6) \[y \le 3x-2\] plug in -1 for x and plug in 6 in for y so... \[6\le3(-1)-2\] \[6\le-3-2\] \[6\le-5\] this statement is not true so it is not a solution

the fasted way to do this is graph it|dw:1398030509373:dw|
