What makes Paris's comment an example of dramatic irony? Juliet is saddened by the death of Tybalt. Juliet is actually weeping over Romeo's banishment. Juliet is pretending to cry in order to avoid seeing Paris. Juliet was in love with her cousin Tybalt.
