(x-3) x+1 / (x-4) (x-3)(x-4)

OpenStudy (1645323):

@suyogsomavanshi

OpenStudy (1645323):

can you cancel out both x-4s on the bottom or not?

OpenStudy (1645323):

@student_basil

hero (hero):

\[\frac{(x - 3)(x + 1)}{(x - 4)(x - 3)(x - 4)}\] Is that what you have?

OpenStudy (1645323):

yes and I end up with x+1/(x-4)(x-4)

hero (hero):

I'd rewrite it as \[\frac{x + 1}{(x - 4)^2}\] And then just leave it as that

OpenStudy (1645323):

ok thanks
